As an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Matt has been appointed to multiple Section Councils and served this past year as the Chair of the ISBA's Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council, one of ISBA’s largest Sections.  He also continues to serve as a member of the ISBA Assembly, the supreme policy-making body of this organization, on behalf of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit. Matt recently was appointed to serve as the Vice Chair of ISBA's new ISBA Special Committee on Succession and Transition Planning for its inaugural year.

Matt also has maintained several positions of leadership within the DuPage County Bar Association since he became a member two decades ago, the most notable of which being his service as President for the 2018-2019 bar year. He is a past Chair of DCBA's Professional Responsibility Committee, Business Law Committee, Law Practice Management Committee, Budget Committee, and Planning Committee. As an Officer and a prior Director of DCBA, Matt has worked alongside some of the most prominent attorneys and judges in DuPage County toward the development and application of a long-term strategic plan for the DCBA and to strive for ways to improve the organization for the benefit of its members and local communities.


In addition to his commitments to the aforementioned professional organizations, Matt has served as President of the Alumni Council and as the current Chair of the Board of Visitors for Northern Illinois University College of Law.

Throughout his career, Matt has handled a broad range of civil litigation matters for individuals as well as small- to medium-sized business entities in numerous state and federal courts and in arbitration and mediation proceedings. He focuses his litigation practice on commercial disputes; business torts; equitable claims, including proceedings for injunctive relief; construction law, including mechanics liens; employment disputes for both employers and employees; creditors' rights, including commercial and personal loan enforcement, corporate and personal bankruptcies, non-bankruptcy workouts, and reorganizations; contested estates and probate

Managing Partner

When his professional schedule permits it, Matt stays actively involved in a number of personal matters and projects including service on various not-for-profit corporation boards, running the DCBA's Mullen Memorial Golf League, and continuing his quest to establish the first attorney incubator program in DuPage County.

Within the past eight years, Matt has been invited to and participated in the Illinois State Bar Association's bi-annual Allerton Conference, an annual symposium for lawyers and judges that addresses emerging legal issues in Illinois.  Frequently, Matt speaks as a lecturer on various legal topics at continuing legal education seminars for multiple professional organizations throughout the State of Illinois.

Matt graduated from Purdue University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. He obtained his law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2000.
